The new eatery will open in Doylestown at the end of the week.

The first Jewish restaurant and deli in the history of Doylestown opened last week.

Matzah Balls, an authentic Jewish restaurant and delicatessen, opened at 24 N. Main Street. Offering deli classics like corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, brisket, and matzah ball soup, the new eatery is bound to add a little more variety to the town’s already-eclectic dining scene.

The menu of Matzah Balls will also include gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Founder and chef Franco Federico had helmed several other eateries over the past 40 years, including Fountainside Seafood & Grille, Ariana’s Ristorante Italiano, and La Dolce Vita Da Franco.

A native Italian, Federico will also offer cuisine influenced by his home country’s famous cooking, with several “Italian specialties” being offered at the new establishment.

A restaurant/deli combination, customers can come in a select from a wide array of sliced meats, cheese, and fish.

The grand opening features a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with Mayor Nori West in attendance. Live music onsite ran through the weekend.
