Thanks to his outgoing personality that is refreshing and authentic, Malvern’s Harry Higgs has become widely popular on the PGA tour, writes Neil Geoghegan for the Daily Local News

“Harry is one of the game’s most colorful personalities,” said Vince Pellegrino, Vice President of the Western Golf Association.

Last winter, 30-year-old Higgs provided a viral moment that endeared him to the masses when he celebrated a win by pulling off his shirt to reveal his “dad bod”.

“You have some success and then just kind of have some fun out there with either the players or, every now and again, with the fans,” said Higgs. “I never thought that this would kind of take off in the way that it has.”

The golfer is currently ranked No. 146. He is hoping to improve this ranking to qualify for the BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club next month.

“I got tons of friends and family in Jersey and the Philadelphia area,” he said. “I need to play a little better golf to ensure that I’m there, but I certainly plan on doing that so I can play in front of some friends and family.”
