A Seattle software company’s national and statewide analyses of household expenses reveals Montgomery County communities in which monthly bill paying takes the least — and largest — bites.

The study by fintech firm doxo shows that nationwide, the monthly outlay for bills is $2,003, which goes to the following:

• Mortgage
• Rent
• Auto loans
• Utilities
• Auto Insurance
• Cable, internet, and phone
• Health insurance
• Mobile phone charges
• Alarms and security expense
• Life insurance

Pa. residents fare relatively well in comparison to the rest of the nation. Its average monthly hit is $1,851.

Drilling down further, however, reveals some pain points.

Wynnewood, for example, is Pa.’s first-ranked position for costs.

Its residents shell out an average of $2,868 per month to stay current with creditors, 55 percent higher than the rest of the state and 43.2 percent higher than other communities across the U.S.

Bryn Mawr residents are also big-time payors, earning the No. 3 with a $2,841 monthly financial hit, 41.9 percent higher than the national average.

Plymouth Meeting just barely escaped the top ten. Its No. 11 ranking nationally reflects a 33.1 percent larger wallet required to stay flush every 30 days.
