Automotive Aftermarket Continues to Drive Results for Colmar’s Dorman Products
2Q2022 at Dorman Products, Colmar, saw a continuance of its high-octane performance this year. Gregory Purcell reported the company’s current successful drive for WFMZ 69 News.
The parts supplier reported second-quarter 2022 net sales of $417.4 million, up a record 34 percent over its performance for the same quarter last year.
That good news, however, was tempered somewhat by rising supply chain costs, competitive wages, and commodity inflation, current factors that continue to influence companies nationwide.
In response, Dorman worked to offset these inflationary factors through initiatives that included trimming costs; that effort increased gross profits but sliced into gross margin percentages.
Kevin Olsen, Dorman president and chief executive officer, took the time to “…thank all our contributors for their tireless efforts in driving our continued success.”
He continued, “Our performance in the quarter was driven by record net sales, as we saw double-digit organic sales growth year over year, and four percent sequential total net sales growth, compared [with] the first quarter of 2022.
“Demand for our products remained strong throughout the quarter with solid orders across all of our customer channels.”
