Tilly Mint’s Tea Room in Souderton celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth with a high tea created specifically for the occasion, writes Bo Koltnow for WFMZ 69 News.

High tea is a British tradition of drinking tea while enjoying a table filled with plated offerings, including sandwiches, pies, and tarts, among many others.

“In the center is our ladybug, she’s our cream cheese, she is sporting a crown today to celebrate the queen’s Jubilee,” said owner Trish Stubbs.

She also included the Coronation Chicken that was created for the original coronation.

Queen Elizabeth’s favorite strawberry jam sandwich, which she has been eating for the past nine decades, since she was four, was also among the selections on the plates.

The queen has been on the throne for the last 70 years. She is second only to Louie 14th of France who was anointed when he was 5. Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne when she was 25.

Customers were delighted with the themed celebration that welcomed them when they visited the tea house.

“It’s just beautiful,” said Jadwiga Maria. “It’s just exciting.”
