The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, with its recently opened King of Prussia inpatient hospital, ranks among the top ten children’s hospitals in the nation, writes Jacob Fulton for USA Today.

This year, the U.S. News and World Report’s ranking of the top children’s hospitals in the country factored in diversity, equity, and inclusion for the first time.

The 2022-23 rankings, released earlier this week, considered 119 children’s hospitals from all over the nation. The hospitals were ranked in 10 specialties using data on patient outcomes, health equity, and compliance with best practices.

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia ranked in fourth place in the nation. It is also the highest-ranked hospital in the Mid-Atlantic region as well as in Pennsylvania.

It is also high in several specific areas, including being named the top pediatric hospital in the nation for diabetes and endocrinology and coming in second for pediatric gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery and pediatric urology.

However, the hospital did slip two places compared to the last three years, when it was in second place nationwide.
