Conshohocken Woman Created ‘Fashion Capsule’ of Her Honeymoon Clothes, Seven Decades Later Her Granddaughter Shows Clothes on TikTok

When Marie D’Allesandro Donato, of Conshohocken, returned from her honeymoon in 1952, she packed all the clothes she wore during that special trip into one green suitcase and put it aside as a fashion capsule to pass down to her family, writes Celia Fernandez for the Insider.

“The excitement of the future ahead was what my honeymoon meant to me,” she said. “I guess, in a way, I wanted to save that feeling in the suitcase for my daughters and their daughters.”

Seven decades on, her granddaughter, Maddy Bill, inherited the suitcase from her mother.

“When my mom and I opened it up, it was like all the photographs I saw of my grandma growing up came to life,” said Bill. “It was remarkable because I felt like we were bringing the past to life.”

Since then, she has been trying on the outfits and posting the results on her TikTok, with the videos going viral.

“My grandmother doesn’t understand TikTok, but I explained that people all over the world are infatuated with her fashion sense and see her as a fashion icon,” said Maddy Bill.
