4 Montgomery County Companies Make Fortune 500 List Again for 2022

Thirteen publicly traded companies from the Philadelphia region, including 4 from Montgomery County, once again made the Fortune 500 list in 2022, writes Ryan Sharrow for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Fortune 500 ranks the companies by annual revenue.

AmerisourceBergen Corp in with distribution and pharmaceutical services came in on the list at No. 8, down 2 spots from No. 10 in 2021. Conshohocken-based AmerisourceBergen increased its revenue to $214 billion in 2021 by 12.7%.

Universal Health Services in King of Prussia dropped 27 spots to No. 297, with its revenue increasing $12.6 billion, at an increase of 9.4%.

Fort Washington-based Toll Brothers jumped up 14 spots to settle in at No. 397, with their revenue increasing to $8.8 billion, a difference of 24.2%.

The last Montgomery County company came in at No. 455: King of Prussia-based UGI, which fell down 19 spots, but their revenue increased to $7.45 billion, an increase of 13.5%.

The 500 companies in total on this year’s list generated $16.1 trillion in revenue and $1.8 trillion in profits.

Walmart continued to have the No. 1 spot this year, followed by Amazon, Apple, CVS Health and UnitedHealth Group.
