Former Eagles owner Norman Braman, the billionaire car dealer who spent his early years in West Chester before moving to Cobbs Creek, now owns an entire block in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood, writes Brian Bandell for the Philadelphia Business Journal

Braman, 89, recently acquired the Fight Club Miami building located at 106 and 120 N.E. 20th Street and the parking lot at 135 N.E. 19th Terrace for $12.75 million. The newly-bought site is 34975 square feet, with Braman’s company paying around $365 per square foot for the land.

Based on the size of the 34,975-square-foot site, Braman’s company paid $365 per square foot for the underlying land.

Braman-managed companies own the buildings to the west and to the east of Fight Club Miami. The newly acquired building was the only one on the block he did not control.

Braman, whom Forbes estimated was worth $2.8 billion as of July 2021, sold the Eagles to their current owner, Jeffrey Lurie, in 1994.

When asked why he bought the team in 1985, Braman’s answer pointed to his youth in Chester County.

“Sentiment,” he said. “They trained in West Chester, and when I was a child, my aunt had a house right next to their training facilities. I even worked as a water boy one summer for them.”
