Gateway HorseWorks, a Malvern nonprofit that incorporates horses into the mental health treatment of people, will host a film premiere and farm celebration on Saturday, May 7 from 4-7 PM.
Executive Director Kristen de Marco started Gateway HorseWorks in 2011 after witnessing how working with horses can help people overcome challenges in their lives. In 2020, a generous donor family stepped forward to purchase a farm that the nonprofit could call home.
Join Gateway HorseWorks as it celebrates the move to its “forever farm” and screens a documentary that was produced by award-winning filmmakers and features several of the nonprofit’s clients.
The documentary follows their journey to healing with the help of equine-assisted psychotherapy and mental health experts.
Gateway HorseWorks provides aid to a diverse community of those in need, including veterans, incarcerated individuals, justice-involved youth and youth in residential homes, and those in recovery.
