CSL Behring has decided to sublease its building at 500 N. Gulph Road in King of Prussia three years after it moved into the 100,820-square-foot space, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Like many other companies, CSL Behring is evaluating its space requirements during the pandemic after sending employees to work from home.

The biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Australia said that as a global business with over 500 locations, it is currently looking “to optimize our footprint in response to our business needs.”

When it moved into the building at the start of 2019, CSL Behring had 1,000 employees working in the community and occupied 350,000 square feet across five buildings in King of Prussia. Ahead of its moving in, Brandywine Realty Trust, which owns the 500 N. Gulph Road building, spent $29.7 million gutting and renovating the entire structure that was originally built in 1979.

CSL Behring has a longstanding presence in King of Prussia. Its predecessor companies have been located in the community since 1995 and stayed in the area while evolving into different entities. The latest one, Aventis Behring, was acquired by CSL in 2004.
