Kristin Randazzo and her husband Vince opened Giacomo’s Italian Market after demand for their catering exploded during the pandemic.

When the pandemic started, Kristin Randazzo, an Arcadia University graduate, and her husband, Vince, saw the catering side of their restaurant business, Giovanni’s Pizza in Quakertown, truly explode, writes Ryan Kneller for The Morning Call.

“We are so blessed because we didn’t feel the impact of our dining room being shut down at all due to how busy we were with our family-style meals to-go,” said Randazzo. “It was insane. I’d say we prepared around 500 family meals on Easter alone.”

As demand for the eatery’s catering orders continued to grow throughout spring and summer, the pair realized they needed more space.

So they decided to start a new business venture, Giacomo’s Italian Market, which would offer various Italian specialties including meats, pasta, and sauces, along with freshly prepared foods such as salads, sandwiches, and baked goods.

The market will feature a full kitchen with seating for 32 customers and offer family-style meals. Randazzo drew the inspiration for this from her mother, who will work as a full-time cook at the market.

Giacomo’s is expected to open in late January.
