Twin brothers Bill and John Vesper are planning a major expansion for their already successful Main Line pasta sauce business Vesper Bros., writes Lisa Dukart for The Business Journals.

The duo had to overcome many roadblocks on their way to success, including limited handmade production capacity and a co-packer who told them they would need to add a preservative to the recipe they had spent a year researching and developing.

However, they did not let that stop them from achieving their dream.

“We wanted to take the food that we had grown up making, sort of branch off the business together, and take some of our traditional family recipes to the world,” said John.

A decade later, the business which began at John’s Village Market in Wayne, which was owned by their father, is booming and they are ready for the next phase of growth. This includes getting their products on the shelves of Whole Food Market stores nationwide within the next two years.

The brothers also have wholesale agreements with Wegmans and ShopRite and a New York-based grocery chain Price Chopper. They have even already expanded internationally, to Canada, Scotland, Spain, and Singapore.
