The Immaculata Symphony will hold its annual Fall Concert, entitled “Centennial Celebration,” on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 PM in Alumnae Hall. The Immaculata Symphony is a university-community organization with a long and outstanding tradition that goes back to the school’s founding in 1920.

Under the leadership of Music Director Joseph Gehring, the Immaculata Symphony’s centennial concert will feature works both old and new. The symphony will be joined on stage by the Immaculata Chorale, consisting of current university students as well as alumni as part of the centennial celebration.

Also, a newly commissioned work by local composer Joseph Lorini for choir and orchestra highlights the Immaculata University alma mater in a new and exciting way.

To conclude the celebration, images of the university from its founding until today will be projected in the concert hall while the orchestra performs Peter Boyer’s stunning Symphony No. 1.

Gehring is chair of the Immaculata University Music Department, an associate faculty member, and director of ensembles. He has directed the Immaculata Symphony since 2004 and is an active conductor, pianist, and educator.

He is the conductor of the West Chester Band and Chesco Pops Orchestra and is a frequent guest conductor of various honor/festival bands and orchestras throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware.

General admission is $15 and senior citizens are $12. Tickets are available for sale on the night of the event and online.
