See How Montgomery County Ranks Among Highest Paid School Districts in Pennsylvania
Montgomery County is home to four of the highest-paid school districts in Pennsylvania, according to a new ranking by the World Scholarship Forum.
Lower Merion School District ranked highest on the list in second place. It is one of the most affluent school areas in the state as well as one of the richest in the country.
Teachers earn an average salary of $95,292 per year, which is above the state average that stood at $66,265 in 2017.
Central Montco Technical High School ranked in third place, with an average teacher salary of $95,235. The school offers a number of programs that prepare students for business or further education in universities, colleges, and technical schools.
Next is Upper Merion Area School District in eighth place. The average income for professional teachers in the district that serves a total of 4,264 students is $90,798.
The list is rounded out by Lower Moreland Township District, where teachers earn an average of $87,049 per year.
The highest-paying school district in the state is Danville Area School District.
