Immaculata University Nursing Students Receive Scholarships from Independence Blue Cross

Immaculata University’s Division of Nursing has announced that 17 undergraduate and three graduate nursing students have received scholarships from the Independence Blue Cross “Nurses for Tomorrow” scholarship program.

“Nurses for Tomorrow” specifically focuses on the goal of retention of students throughout their years of study. Its focus helps challenge applicants to look beyond their capacity as nurses toward the role of nurse leaders.

The Independence Blue Cross Foundation is a charitable, private foundation with a mission to lead solutions for a healthier community. Immaculata has been a recipient of the nursing scholarships since its inception in 2004 as the Independence Blue Cross Nurse Scholars Program.

The undergraduate scholarship recipients are:

  • Emily Cosgrove of West Chester
  • Julianna Jones of Coatesville
  • Victoria Pantalone of Havertown
  • Oumou Nayete of Sharon Hill
  • Meghan McKelvie of Oreland
  • Grace Simmons of Bear, Del.
  • Leigha Novelli of Tabernacle, N.J.
  • Madison Edwards of Berlin, N.J.

Accelerated Second Degree BSN recipients:

  • Ian Weigand of Exton
  • Danielle Kerr of Springfield
  • Brianna Darrah of Elkins Park

RN-to-BSN recipients:

  • Lillian Gutierrez of Coatesville
  • Jennifer Brewer of Collegeville
  • Angela Lynch of Wilmington, Del.
  • Kelly Hynson of Townsend, Del.
  • Naseem Ghulam of Newark, Del.

MSN recipients:

  • Janice Miller of Romansville
  • Tanya Jones of Abington
