Aqua Pennsylvania has invested $2.6 million in infrastructure improvement projects in West Goshen and West Whiteland townships. These upgrades will improve reliability for customers throughout Chester County.

Crews have finished working on a $1.6 million project that replaced 7,950 feet of aging six-inch cement pipe with new eight-inch ductile iron water main on the following streets:

• Joy Lane between East Strasburg Road and Hawthorne Lane
• Spring Valley Lane between Joy and Ellis lanes
• Hawthorne Lane between Joy and Ellis lanes
• Box Elder Drive between Hawthorne and Ellis lanes
• Staghorn Way between Hawthorne Lane and Box Elder Drive
• Valley Circle between Spring Valley Lane and the end of the cul-de-sac

Final restoration plans are being handled by the township.

Final restoration is complete in West Whiteland Township, where crews replaced 4,600 feet of aging eight- and six-inch cement pipe with new eight- and six-inch ductile iron pipe. The $1 million project took place on the following streets:

• East Belvidere Circle between Monmouth and Bala terraces
• Merion Terrace between West Belvidere Circle and Monmouth Terrace
• Monmouth, West Cardigan, East Cardigan, West Anglesey, and East Anglesey terraces between East Belvidere Terrace and the end of the parking lot  

These projects are part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program, which replaced more than 15 miles of aging main in Chester County in 2020 to improve service reliability for customers. The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.

These projects were included in Aqua’s more than $31 million capital spend in infrastructure improvement projects across Chester County in 2020. Aqua Pennsylvania has more than $33 million planned for investments across Chester County in 2021.
