Leanne Moyer, the founder of the “Fairies of Boyertown and surrounding areas” Facebook group, has found her calling in helping the local homeless population, writes Holly Harrar for WFMZ 69 News.

The name of the group is appropriate, as many of the people she helps see her as something of a magical fairy.

“They’re always saying ‘my angel’ or ‘my fairy,’” she said. “It’s amazing.”

The group already has more than 100 members, all of whom are helping Moyer help those in need.

“I have an amazing group of people in this group that are willing to help everybody,” she said.

Moyer is unemployed after being laid off due to the pandemic, but she is not planning on returning to work after the situation has normalized. She wants to be able to focus all of her energy on her current endeavor.

“Personally, it’s the best thing I think I’ve ever accomplished in my life,” she said.

Over the last several weeks, Moyer has been spending her Saturdays outside the First United Methodist Church in Pottstown. There, she is handing out warm meals and clothes.

“It just makes me feel wonderful,” she said. Want to help her group or donate? Check out her FaceBook Group.
