Lynn Ozer, one of the most prominent Small Business Administration lenders in the region, is starting a new venture with Ambler-based MultiFunding, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The aim of the SBA Ignite is to educate one million small business owners and entrepreneurs on loans backed by the SBA in 2021.

The online portal set up by the project went live earlier this week. It will feature live webinars along with a library of on-demand courses that cover all aspects of SBA loans.

MultiFunding is offerings these courses for free. Instead of registration fees, the small business advisory is encouraging participants to donate to Food Connect.

Ozer, who left Lancaster-based Fulton Financial for her new venture, will become president of MultiFunding and lead its efforts for SBA Ignite.

She noted that while “PPP brought the SBA to the forefront,” it “has been a life vest for businesses but that’s all it is.”

“If you are thinking long term, the conventional programs are why I have called the SBA the biggest secret out there,” she said. “Not enough businesses know about it.”
