Montgomery County Community College Board of Trustees Names officers for 2021.

Montgomery County Community College Board of Trustees elected its new officers for the 2021 calendar year during its monthly public meeting last week held via Zoom.

MCCC is governed by a 15-person Board of Trustees, whose members are appointed by the Montgomery County Commissioners to six-year renewable terms.

Board members re-elected Frank X. Custer of Upper Gwynedd Township as chair, Lisa B. Binder of Whitpain Township as vice-chair and Marcel L. Groen of Abington Township as treasurer, and elected Theresa M. Reilly of Abington Township as secretary and Varsovia Fernandez of Lower Merion Township as assistant secretary.

“It is an honor to serve in this role, and I look forward to advancing MCCC’s mission as we continue to work closely with President Vicki Bastecki-Perez and MCCC’s leaders,” said Custer, who was appointed to the board by the Montgomery County Commissioners in 2017 and who has served as chair for the past two years.

“As we navigate these challenging times, MCCC continues to be a pillar of resources for our communities while providing quality programs and innovative services to support the educational needs of all students,” Custer said.

Custer also thanked Margot Clark of Abington Township for her long-standing service to the board as secretary. She will continue to serve as a trustee in the coming year.
