Wawa: So Which Sandwich Is No. 1 at the Delaware Valley’s Favorite Convenience Store?

When it comes to Wawa, everyone’s got their favorite sandwich, entrée, snack food, whatever.

But which sandwich ranks as the best in the group”

Here’s a list of the top five, from best to worst, according to Jason Sheehan at Philadelphia Magazine.

1. The Gobbler, Wawa’s answer to Thanksgiving, ranked as the Delaware County convenience store’s number one sandwich, according to

This portable Thanksgiving dinner is warm and sloppy and cheap and delicious.

IF only it were available year-round, or after 9 p.m., or with a side of mashed potatoes to dip the sandwich in.

2. Classic Italian hoagie

This benchmark sandwich can be measured against every other Italian hoagie in town.

3. Ham hoagie

This is simple at its best, making it a “damn fine sandwich.”

4. Cheesesteak, after midnight

It’s a wildcard sandwich, at its best when everything else is closed, after a bad night, a great night, a long night or a night where you forgot to eat.

5. Meatball sandwich

This exists when you must have a meatball sandwich but no other meatball sandwich exists nearby or you don’t feel like driving.
