A Model for Community Feeding Community, PACS Finds New Home

By

Phoenixville Area Community Services drew a crowd that included several elected officials on Monday, as it cut the ribbon to open its new location at 101 Buchanan Street.

As a model for community feeding community, PACS works to ensure food is available for those who need it.

“We felt as a board, as a team, and as an organization that no one should be hungry or food insecure in our area,” said Frederick Hubler Jr., Board President and the Chief Wealth Strategist at Creative Capital Wealth Management Group. “This building helps that come true.”

Phoenixville has felt the impact of the pandemic. Since January, PACS has received more than 45,000 requests for food.

“When the pandemic was hitting, this was kind of a distant vision,” PACS Executive Director Mary Fuller said of her nonprofit’s new home. “But the pandemic quickly kicked us into high gear. We’ve had our eye on this place, and everything worked out.”
