Fun Dog-Friendly Activities to Do in Montco This Fall

Montgomery County is a dog lover’s dream! From wide-open spaces to a wide range of dog-friendly restaurants, you’ll find there’s a lot to explore with your furry best friend. The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board rounded up some of the top things to do with your dog this fall.

Visit a Park

Take in some history with your dog at Valley Forge National Historical Park. The park has 35 miles of designated hiking trails to take your pet on. At Green Lane Park, in northwestern Montgomery County, there’s 25 miles of trails for hiking with your pet. Dogs are welcome in the park and in any body of water, as long as they remain on a leash. Near Collegeville, you’ll find Evansburg State Park. You and your dog can explore the trails along the Skippack Creek.

Dog-Friendly Dining

Looking for a place to eat? Montco’s restaurant scene has plenty of pet-friendly patios to enjoy.  Enjoy beers & small bites with your pup at Conshohocken Brewing Company in Conshohocken. Or check-out Shake Shack, where you can get a burger and milkshake for yourself, and something off the special dog menu for your friend!  A full list of pet-friendly restaurants can be found here.

Walk Along the Trails

Montgomery County is home to almost 100 miles of trails, including the Schuylkill River Trail, a favorite of dog owners. Its wide, paved road are perfect for a walk with your pup.Check out some of the other pet-friendly trails here.
