Ethos Cannabis has increased its Philadelphia area footprint with a new medical marijuana dispensary located in the heart of Montgomeryville’s commercial district, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

This dispensary is the 25th medical marijuana provider to open in the Philadelphia region in the last two-and-a-half years.

Ethos was awarded one of eight clinical registrant licenses by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. This allows the company to work with one of the state’s leading medical schools to perform medical cannabis-related research.

Also as part of the program, Ethos is working with Thomas Jefferson University and has already opened another dispensary in Philadelphia.

“We are excited to extend our research studies beyond our Center City Philadelphia location,” said Teddy Scott, CEO of Ethos.

The Montgomeryville location will collaborate with the research team at Jefferson to pre-screen potential patients for study enrollment. They will also take part in conversations, provide feedback about what is being reported by patients in the dispensary, and relay frequently asked questions.

In addition, the dispensary will provide Jefferson with specific information relating to all cannabis products purchased by each patient enrolled in the study.
