Rolling Turf Golf Course in Schwenksville has added Foot Golf, a new fun activity to help families keep busy and enjoy the outdoors during the pandemic, writes Richard Curtis for FOX 29.

Ray Wells, owner and manager of the 12-hole course, got the idea for the new sport at a turf conference.

“They were talking about different things golf courses are doing to get non-golfers out on the course and they said ‘We’re gonna have soccer and golf combined,’” said Wells. “And that’s exactly what this is.”

The goal is to kick a soccer ball into a hole in as few shots as possible. As the new game moves along so quickly, the groups are no longer limited to four people and six-person groups are welcomed.

The activity is also affordable with the price tag for kids under 12 at $8 and $10 for adults. The games – which play through all 12 holes – usually last between 75 minutes and two hours. The players are also asked to wear sneakers instead of soccer cleats to protect the course.
