August 6th COVID-19 Update: Montgomery County Records First Death in Four Days

Based on the information found on the county’s COVID-19 website, here is a snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County.

Since the last update Tuesday afternoon, Montgomery County reported 44 new COVID-19 cases and one death Wednesday afternoon.

The lone death was the first reported by the county since Saturday, August 1st and continues a flattening of deaths from COVID-19 curve in the County.

Since July 22nd, only 5 county residents have died as a result of COVID-19 related infections.

The one COVID-19 death nudges the County’s death toll to 821

Over the last 7 days, Montgomery County reported 293 new coronavirus infections, a decrease of 93 over the previous seven days.

The 44 new positive cases reported Wednesday afternoon brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 9,787 countywide, 5,171 of which are females, 4,573 are males.

The average age of individuals with COVID-19 across the county is 51.4 years-old.

COVID-19 Testing

Montgomery County’s walk-up testing sites and operations are:

Pottstown – Montgomery County Office of Public Health, 364 King Street. Testing is available:Montgomery County’s walk-up testing sites and operations are:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from noon to 2 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lansdale – 421 Main Street. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Willow Grove – Montgomery County Office of Public Health, 102 York Road (this site will be moving). Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from noon to 2 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Green Lane – Deep Creek and Snyder Road. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Ardmore – 114 W. Lancaster Ave. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Norristown – Delaware Valley Community Health Center at the Norristown Regional Health Center at 1401 Dekalb Street.

COVID-19 contact tracing efforts are ongoing and are critical to slowing the spread of the disease. The County has partnered with ACLAMO, Family Services of Montgomery County, Montgomery County OIC, and Visiting Nurses Association Community Services to help with contact tracing efforts.

Individuals who have been tested or identified as a direct contact of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 and has received a call from any of our community partners may return the call to 610.278.5923 to find out their results or status. All information discussed on the call is strictly confidential and is only used to trace COVID-19 cases.
