Montgomery County Community College Finds Its Sixth President in Dr. Victoria L. Bastecki-Perez
After an extensive nationwide search, Montgomery County Community College’s Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Victoria L. Bastecki-Perez to serve as the College’s sixth President.
Bastecki-Perez, who joined MCCC in 1996, has signed a three-year contract and officially began her tenure on May 18.
“We are confident that Dr. Bastecki-Perez’s strong leadership and unwavering dedication to the success of our students will continue to propel Montgomery County Community College as a national leading institution in higher education, a key community partner and an invaluable resource for all County residents,” said Board Chair Frank X. Custer.
During Bastecki-Perez’s time as Interim President, MCCC has been honored with the prestigious Achieving the Dream Leader College of Distinction award, national recognition for the successful work the college has done in narrowing equity gaps and improving student outcomes.
In addition, for the fifth consecutive year, MCCC was named one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges.
The school was also recognized as an inaugural PNGAS Guard-Friendly School, an All-In Gold Campus, and a national Bellwether Award finalist, among many other prestigious awards and designations.
“It is a great honor and privilege to be selected as the sixth president of Montgomery County Community College,” said Bastecki-Perez.
