Louis Knight, Narberth’s American Idol hopeful, performed from his home on Sunday as the singing competition presents this season’s Top 20 contestants, writes Ellen Gray for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Knight has recorded his performance using three iPhones, all provided by the show.

“We are all creating an entire production, essentially, from our house,” said the 19-year-old Lower Merion High School graduate.

There is a lot of pressure to do a good job since the viewers’ votes will determine the Top 10.

Knight, who still works as a delivery person for Narberth Pizza, was an early favorite among the judges and the audience. During his Washington audition, Luke Bryan even told him that he “may be the biggest star we’ve ever had on American Idol.”

And while the switch from the glitzy studios to his home was not what he expected, he decided to make the best use of it.

“This whole experience has been a roller coaster and not what any of us expected, but it’s incredible to be a part of,” said Knight. “And it’s going to change TV history, filming us all on three iPhones.”
