Montgomery County COVID-19 Monday Afternoon Update – April 6th
Based on the information found on state and county’s COVID-19 website and the Commissioner’s press release Sunday afternoon, here is quick snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County, the Delaware Valley and Pennsylvania.
There were 101 new positive Montgomery County COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday.
The positive cases are from 33 municipalities, only one of which, Lower Frederick Township (1), reported its first case.
A breakdown of Sunday’s reported new positive cases follows:
- Age Range: 8 – 95
- Age Brackets: (1) 0 – 9, (1) 10 – 19, (11) 20 – 29, (14) 30 – 39, (12) 40 – 49, (18) 50 – 59, (14) 60 – 69, (15) 70 – 79, (10) 80 – 89, (5) 90 – 99
- Gender: 52 females, 42 males
- Hospitalized: (6) No, (89) Unknown, (6) Yes
The 101 new positive cases brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 989 countywide.
Of those 989 confirmed cases countywide, 477 are male, 492 are female.
The average age of individuals with COVID-19 is 50.2 years old with the youngest patient being a 1-month-old baby and a 95 year-old Abington man, the oldest.
Fiftysix of the county’s 62 municipalities are home to at least one individual with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

Four new coronavirus related death were reported in Montgomery County on Sunday, moving the County’s COVID-19 death toll to 22, 13.6-percent of the 162 deaths attributed to the coronavirus statewide.
The County’s total number of reported cases represent 7.6-percent of the 12,980 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania.
By comparison, as of noon Monday, with the exception of Philadelphia County, and now Lehigh County, with 3,611 and 1,006 cases respectively, neighboring and surrounding counties all have fewer positive COVID-19 cases than does Montgomery County:
