Next week, Doggie Style Pets in Narberth which offers pets for adoption in its shop, is hoping to continue its program that has been disrupted by the COVID-19 crisis, writes Ronnie Polaneczky for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The chain with ten locations in the Philadelphia region keeps pets for adoption in cozy “adoption rooms” where they are cared for by the staff until they find them permanent homes. The chain has so far saved more than 10,000 animals.

The dogs are taken out for walks by local volunteers, such as the Siegel family. They drive to the shop at least three times a week from their Penn Valley home to ensure the pooches get their daily exercise.

However, this routine has been usurped by the coronavirus. Now the dogs have had to be placed in foster homes and rescue shelters until the situation returns to normal.

For Jennifer and Barry Siegel, and their boys, Alex and Max, that day cannot come soon enough.

“This has bonded us in an incredible way,” said Jennifer.
