Montgomery County is offering a possible preview for the rest of Pennsylvania as residents adjust to life with coronavirus-related safety measures, according to a staff report from CBS Philly.

The third most-populated county in the Keystone State with more than 800,000 people has recorded 40 percent of Pennsylvania’s cases of coronavirus.

As a result, Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the closure of all schools, community centers, gyms, and entertainment venues in the county. He also recommended closing all “non-essential” retail facilities in Montgomery County.

And while many residents are taking the threat of the virus very seriously, others are more sanguine about the threat posed by COVID-19.

Seventy-seven old Joyce Stoeber and her friend, 80-year-old Sandy Willbrant, rushed to get in one more workout before their gym closed for two weeks. They were the only ones to show up on Friday.

“You can’t stop living,” said Stoeber. “Why run in circles and scream and shout? We’re very calm.”
