Montgomery County COVID-19 Morning Update – March 27th
Based on the information found on the County’s COVID-19 website as well as the commissioner’s press conference Thursday afternoon, here is quick snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County.
There were 94 new positive Montgomery County COVID-19 cases reported on Thursday. These positive individuals are from 44 municipalities, 6 of which including Hatfield, Jenkintown, Norristown, Souderton, Upper Hanover, Upper Pottsgrove, are in municipalities reporting their first cases.
A breakdown of Monday’s reported new positive cases follows:
- Age Range: 8 to 95
- Age Brackets: (1) 0-9, (3) 10 – 19, (20) 20 – 29, (14) 30 – 39, (18) 40 – 49, (13) 50 – 59, (16) 60 – 69, (7) 70 – 79, (2) 80 – 89, (1) 90- 99
- Gender: 45 females, 46 males
- Hospitalized: (4) Yes, (44) No, (44) Unknown
The 94 new positive cases brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 313 countywide.
Of those 313 confirmed cases countywide, 165 are male, 145 are female.
Through noon Thursday, the County’s drive-thru testing center on Temple University’s Ambler Campus in Upper Dublin had tested 1,631 individuals since opening Saturday morning. Of those already tested, 95 new positive cases have been identified from the nearly 430 test results already received by the county.
The average age of individuals with COVID-19 is 47.6 years old with the youngest patient being a 1 year-old Royersford boy and two 95 year-old individuals, the oldest patients.
44 of the County’s 62 municipalities are home to at least one individual with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

The death of an 62 year-old Whitemarsh Township man from the coronavirus brings the number of deaths in the County to three, 19-percent of the 16 deaths attributed to the coronavirus statewide.
The County’s total number of reported cases represent 18.6-percent of the 1,687 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania.
By comparison, as of noon Wednesday, with the exception of Philadelphia County, neighboring and surrounding counties all have fewer positive COVID-19 cases than does Montgomery County:
