Women to Watch, a live radio show hosted by Susan Rocco that tells the real story behind the titles of some of the world’s most accomplished women, profiled Lori K. Shemtob, the founding partner of Shemtob Draganosky Taylor in Blue Bell.

Shemtob grew up in Massachusetts where from an early age she was influenced by the work ethic of her father, Joe Kessler.

He was a butcher and an amazing athlete who did sports to support his family. On his main days, Friday and Saturday, he would leave home at 4 in the morning and return exhausted at midnight.

“He worked really hard,” said Shemtob.

To help their father, Shemtob and her two siblings used to do things around the shop whenever they had time. Shemtob sometimes worked as a cashier and other times worked in sales.

And while she does describe her upbringing as a little bit old fashioned in the sense that girls did one thing and boys did another, Shemtob said her parents were always encouraging and supported her in everything she wanted to do.
