Students Who Recently Graduated from MCCC’s Workforce Development Division Ready to Take on High-Tech Manufacturing

MCCC’s Machinist- Computerized Numeric Control Operator program offered through Workforce Development Division now has nine new graduates.

Montgomery County Community College’s Machinist- Computerized Numeric Control Operator program offered through the school’s Workforce Development Division now has nine new graduates.

The 168-hour program is taught by experienced manufacturing professionals. To this end it provides students with the required knowledge and skills in basic measurement, blueprint reading, safety precautions and procedures, precision tools, and machine milling and lathe operations, as well as maintenance and troubleshooting.

Montgomery County Community College collaborates with more than a dozen local companies to train their employees through this program. Additionally, the program has proven to have a very successful placement rate with local area companies.

The annual average salary for experienced operators is $65,290, according to Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Center for Workforce Information and Analysis. There is also at least 16.7 percent growth expected in this field just within Montgomery County from 2014 to 2024.

The next program session will take place from February 17 through May 26, 2020, at the college’s Central Campus in Blue Bell. Classes will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
