Marylyn Schiff Crowns Successful Jewelry Business With Boutique, Ardmore Showroom
After decades of successfully selling her jewelry designs online and in national chains such as South Moon Under and Soft Surroundings, Marlyn Schiff has opened a new boutique and showroom in Haverford, writes Elizabeth Wellington for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Her jewelry is a mainstay at the Skirt in Bryn Mawr and Center City, as well.
“I’ve carried Marlyn’s line for 19 years,” said Maureen Doron, Skirt owner. “When I was just starting, she bought a jewelry case on her own dime and filled it with her jewelry to help me out. And today it’s our No. 1-selling jewelry line.”
Still, Schiff’s most impressive collaboration is with Stitch Fix. Her pieces have been included in the fashion subscription box since 2011. Just last year, 400,000 of her pieces were sold to Stitch Fix.
That success set up the jewelry designer to buy the former Mock Fox Interiors Design building last year.
She then gutted it and redesigned it, adding top floors and design space. The first floor is home to her first-ever stand-alone boutique, which opened in August to mark three decades in the business.
“It’s exactly what I’ve always envisioned,” Schiff said.
