While it might seem that now is an odd time to invest in luxury shopping malls, King of Prussia Mall owner Simon Property Group might be an outlier. Image via Simon Property Group.

A new parking app that can help holiday shoppers at King of Prussia Mall avoid the dreaded slow crawl while they are searching for a spot to leave their vehicle, writes Dan Stamm for the NBC 10.

Last week, the mall began offering reserved up-front parking on the second level of the Orange Parking Garage on its MyPark app. Shoppers can download the app and reserve a spot on the Orange parking deck. For those just looking to run in and get something done quickly, the first 30 minutes are free. Thereafter, every hour costs $3.

“The new parking program provides a quick and easy way for shoppers to pick-up, exchange, or return an item,” said Simon Property Group, the operator of KoP Mall.

Simon added that the selected parking spots give easy access to the luxury wing of the mall featuring Louis Vuitton and Cartier, among others.

“With this new and exciting feature, accessibility to our 450-plus retailers just became a whole lot easier, especially as we approach the holiday shopping season,” said KoP Mall marketing director Kathy Smith.
