Blue Bell-based Unisys continues to grow its federal contracting arm with a new, four-year Department of Defense contract worth up to $214 million, writes Michelle Caffrey for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The software company will upgrade and consolidate tech services for 19 DoD agencies known as “Fourth Estate” organizations.

They operate outside the military branches and include the Missile Defense Agency, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Unisys got the contract through DISA, which provides IT support for military operations. This is the second contract the company has been awarded so far this year by the agency.

Previously, Unisys won a $152 million contract to provide DISA’s Joint Service Provider program with managed cloud services.

The latest contract focuses on the IT service desk and field services. To carry out the contract, Unisys will tap its InteliServe managed services platform.

This new contract will further boost the company’s financial turnaround after Unisys recorded its first annual revenue growth in over a decade in 2018.

Company officials credit growth on Unisys’ expertise in cybersecurity, saying it has the key differentiator in competing for government contracts.
