Local industry leaders discussed their experiences with receiving grants and business loans during an October panel and mixer organized last week by Norristown Chamber of Commerce at Five Saints Distilling and International Spirits.

The panel was facilitated by Elmwood Park Zoo Executive Director and CEO Al Zone. Panelists included Founder and Distiller of Five Saints Distilling John George, President and CEO of the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board Mike Bowman, Crazy Aaron’s Puttyworld’s Aaron Muderick, and Main Street Deli’s Chef Keith Taylor.

During the discussion, Bowman referred to his co-panelists as risk-taking mavericks in the community, noting that it is people like them that “build for the future of Norristown and Montgomery County.”

He also emphasized the importance of social media in promoting Norristown’s revitalization.

“Spread the word on social media as you frequent these great assets in Norristown,” he said. “If you go to the Elmwood Park Zoo, share it and encourage people to share that. Use social media to push the great message of Norristown.”

After listening to the panel, attendees were invited to mingle while enjoying award-winning spirits from Five Saints Distilling.

Norristown Chamber of Commerce’s November mixer is set for Nov. 6 at ACLAMO Family Centers.
