Merion Station’s Zip Has Highest Percentage of Well Educated Residents in Greater Philadelphia
Twelve Montgomery County places are among the ZIP codes with the highest percentage of adults with advanced degrees in Greater Philadelphia, writes Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The Philadelphia area is known for its high number of colleges and universities, which bring a lot of brainpower to the region.
In an attempt to see where this brainpower is most concentrated, the Philadelphia Business Journal looked at the ZIP codes in the region and ranked them according to the percentage of adults that hold advanced degrees.
Merion Station took the region’s crown as the ZIP code with the highest percentage of adults aged 25 and over with a graduate or professional degree at 61.2 percent.
Also in the top five are Wynnewood in second place with 51 percent and Narberth in fourth with 47.3 percent.
Gladwyne ranked sixth, followed by Bryn Mawr in ninth place and Bala Cynwyd at tenth.
Next is Dresher at 17, Blue Bell at 22, and Ardmore at 27, while Lafayette Hill is at 30.
The list is rounded off by Elkins Park at No. 33 and Ambler in thirty-fifth.
