Huntingdon Valley Bank is continuing its push into commercial banking by adding a team of three lenders from Mid Penn Bank to its Center City loan production office, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Huntingdon Valley-based bank entered the commercial banking world together with its parent company, HV Bancorp, in March.

At the time, the bank added senior lenders from Univest Corp. and appointed Hugh Connelly as the executive vice president of its new business banking division.

Connelly’s business development specialist Nan Kelly and four other Univest team members also joined the new division at that time.

Now, the team has grown to nine with the addition of the latest trio led by Daniel Krewson. He served as Mid Penn’s Delaware Valley regional president after it acquired First Priority Bank last summer.

“One of the things we really liked about Dan is that he’s a leader and not just numbers driven,” said Connelly. “He spent time working for a fintech and his approach to the job and the way he attacks problems was not shaped the way it was for most bankers.”
