BrainSpark Health, a Plymouth Meeting addiction treatment center, is helping people fight addiction using a new treatment that accelerates and improves the detoxification process, writes Michael Bradley for the Main Line Today.

BrainSpark was founded by Rich Masterson, who knows how tough addiction is to conquer from his own experiences with his mother and uncle, who fell victim to alcohol. He also knows there are only a few treatments out there for the millions of people across the country affected by addiction.

As the first addiction treatment center of its kind on the East Coast, Masterson’s clinic is hoping to provide another weapon for addicts who are trying to fight back.

Depending on their needs, patients at the clinic undergo up to 12 days of intense intravenous, non-narcotic NAD IV treatments. This helps control the part of their brain that desires alcohol or drugs. The goal of the procedure is to limit their cravings so they can begin their road to recovery.

The treatment has proven successful repeatedly, with people regaining their full appetite by day six.

“I didn’t believe it until I saw it,” said Masterson. “The transformation occurs before your eyes.”
