Los Angeles company IMS Trading USA sells exfoliators and charcoal-infused sea foam body sponges under the Cleanlogic brand. IMS Trading USA, signed a lease for 50,000 square feet in Lower Providence, writes Natalie Kostelini for Philadelphia Business Journal. 

IMS trading signed a seven-year lease at 2525 Monroe Blvd. The company is using most of the space for a warehouse-distribution facility and the remaining 5,000 square feet for an office.

IMS trading settled on the 2525 Monroe Blvd. location after a long search in the Philadelphia suburbs. The company had a distribution facility in Pennsauken, New Jersey but later wanted to move the warehouse out of Pennsauken to save money. 

“The cost to do business is what brought us here,” said Michael Ghesser, chief operating officer at IMS Trading. “There is a big cost difference between Philadelphia and New Jersey. And, a lot of things happened for our business and it made sense for us to get our own office and warehouse here.” 

The bath accessories that IMS Trading sells under the Cleanlogic brand are self-produced. A special exfoliating fabric makes the products unique. The company uses the fabric in towels sponges and gloves. 

The company contemplated locations in Quakertown, Perkasie, Lansdale and Levittown. 

“We looked all over,” Ghesser said. “My biggest issue with that was how am I going to retain top talent?” 

IMS Trading picked 2525 Monroe Blvd. Due to its proximity to King of Prussia and Collegville, knowing it could attract skilled employees there. It will start with five employees in the new warehouse and will relocate three employees from California to work in the office with intentions of hiring new employees in the near future. The headquarters remains in Los Angeles but Ghesser eventually wants IMS Trading to be a Pennsylvania-based company.
