Through its partnership with EverFi, Univest delivered tailored financial education to 11 local schools in an effort to improve the students’ financial proficiency. This year, the program reached 1,200 students who completed 3,610 hours of critical learning. The courses are designed to empower learners to make safe, smart, and informed financial decisions leading to a successful financial future. Univest sponsors the program to offer access to the curriculum at no cost to the schools or taxpayers.
Univest also participated in the American Bankers Association’s Get Smart About Credit Day and Teach Children to Save Day. These national campaigns, which occur every October and April, respectively, raise awareness about the importance of saving and using credit wisely and encourage smarter financial choices later in life. Univest employees visited more than 1,800 students in kindergarten through 12th grades.
“In addition to providing financial support, we are committed to helping our communities provide financial education, especially to our youth,” said Jeff Schweitzer, president and CEO of Univest Financial Corporation. “Teaching our children these important concepts can help them establish healthy financial habits that will last a lifetime.”
