DeSales University and Bancroft Capital are joining forces to help veterans forge a new career path in financial services.

Brother Daniel Wisniewski, OSFS, provost, and Cauldon D. Quinn, CEO and plankowner at Bancroft Capital, signed a memorandum of understanding on a Veterans Education Initiative at Bancroft Capital’s headquarters in Fort Washington.

The partnership will allow veteran candidates in Bancroft’s Veteran Training Program (VTP) to audit DeSales courses free of charge or enroll in the ACCESS or MBA programs. Student veterans at DeSales will obtain access to Bancroft Capital’s industry contacts for training, internships, and career opportunities.

“This partnership is so meaningful, not just to our firm, but to veterans,” says Quinn. “It makes such a big difference and allows us to touch people’s lives in a meaningful way.”

The partnership is the University’s latest push to serve veterans. Earlier this year, it opened an Office of Veterans and Military Services, and in 2018, a group of student veterans launched DeSales Vets for Vets, a chartered chapter of Student Veterans of America.

“We’ve had so many people in this country commit to service,” says Christopher Cocozza, head of the Division of Business at DeSales. “We owe a debt to them for the work that they’ve done. A real value for us is being able to help the vets in our program ultimately find job placement.”

Bancroft Capital is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing brokerage and investment banking services to institutional investors and clients. Steven Ivcic ’76, managing director of fixed income and plankowner, is a DeSales alum and helped to make the initiative a reality.
