State Rep. Matt Bradford announces $1 million in grant funds for Montco
State Rep. Matt Bradford, D-Montgomery, applauded funding for a pair of redevelopment projects in Montgomery County. The funding, totaling $1 million, will benefit projects in Norristown and Plymouth Meeting.
Each project will receive $500,000, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which administers a variety of Pennsylvania’s funding programs to help grow the Commonwealth’s economy, create jobs and improve cultural and recreational assets across the state.

“This is outstanding news for our region,” Bradford said. “I am thankful to the CFA for its investment and for partnering with the Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority on these projects.”
At Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, the funds will be used to build a new parking lot between the lower lot and Harding Boulevard. The new lot will add 222 parking spaces and will allow the zoo to continue its expansion.
“We are very thankful for Norristown, the county and the state for their support and effort on this project,” said Al Zone, CEO of Elmwood Park Zoo. “There were a lot of meetings and a lot of creative thinking that had to be done to make this happen.”
In Plymouth Meeting, the funds will be used at the Plymouth Meeting Mall to construct new retail space and market the space to an arts and crafts purveyor, a craft brewery and several restaurants.
Bradford, who also serves as the House Democratic Appropriations Committee chairman, represents the 70th Legislative District in central Montgomery County.
