Perkiomen Valley Art Center announces award winners

Katherine Krieg of Green Lane for Winter Evening on the Perkiomen won Best of Show

The Perkiomen Valley Art Center is pleased to announce the award winning artists of the 57th Annual Membership Exhibition currently at Mennonite Heritage Center,  565 Yoder Road, Harleysville.  The art show is free and open to the public  until April 26.  Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm.

PVAC appreciates the effort and expertise of this year’s exhibition judge Robert Libby. The following awards were presented:

Hiram & Mary Jane Hershey Best of Show –  Katherine Krieg of Green Lane for Winter Evening on the Perkiomen;

Precision Finishing, Inc. Award for Excellence – Bradley Hendershot of Green Lane for Fish Market;

Award in Memory of Frederic “Rich” Schmid – Lois Schlachter of Spring Mount for Geometric Revelation;

Catherine Schlachter Caroll Memorial Award – Rich Godshall of Willow Grove for Night Light;

Off the Wall Custom Framing Award – Lori Quinque-Quinn of Perkiomenville for Don’t Judge Me;

Schang-Hai Gallerie Award for Excellence – Cathy Grygiel of Souderton for Cathill Road;

Mennonite Heritage Center Merit Award – Debra Yerger of Harleysville for Old Apple Tree;

First Place Professional – Susan Hohman of Quakertown for Reliving the Past;

Second Place Professional – Sherry Ward of Schwenksville for Three Lady Bathers;

Third Place Professional – Joan Ambrose-Bibbo of Schwenksville for Billy;

Honorable Mention Professional – Terry Souders of Gilbertsville for Monhegan Fog Bell;

Mildred & Edward Kraske Memorial Award – Colleen Algeo of Souderton for Firefly 4th of July;

First Place Non-Professional – Donna Steich of Telford for Intense Stare;

Second Place Non-Professional – Letitia Ryan of Schwenksville for Hookipa Beach, Maui;

Th rid Place Non-Professional – Beth Culp of Schwenksville for She’s My Very Best Friend;

Honorable Mention Non-Professional – Mary McKeever Volpe for Sunflower.

The Perkiomen Valley Art Center is a non-profit volunteer group promoting fine arts in this region and providing encouragement to local artists through educational programs, art exhibits, awards for excellence in the arts, and awards for area high school art students.  All programs and art exhibits are free and membership is open to all.
