Chestnut Hill College hosting annual Steinway Artist Concert
Award-winning pianist Spencer Myer will perform at Chestnut Hill College’s upcoming Steinway Artist Concert — an annual tradition featuring piano recitals from the world’s foremost artists.
The College hosts the Steinway Artist Concert on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 4:00 p.m. in the East Parlor of Saint Joseph Hall. The Steinway concert series began in 2012 and features global pianists who were chosen to perform exclusively on a Steinway. It is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Myer — one of only 1,800 Steinway Artists — has been praised for his “superb playing” by the Boston Globe. As an in-demand musician, he has performed as a soloist for countless orchestras around the world, including the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, The Cleveland Orchestra and Beijing’s China National Symphony Orchestra. He is also the recipient of numerous international awards, having won first prize in the 2004 UNISA International Piano Competition in South Africa and the gold medal from the 2008 New Orleans International Piano Competition.
Formally recognized as Steinway & Sons, Steinway is an award-winning American-German piano company that makes pianos of the highest quality. It is often labelled as one of the “Big Four” piano manufacturers in existence. While it received its first as a gift in 1903, a working Steinway has remained in the White House since 1938.
Chestnut Hill College is designated as an All-Steinway School. The company bestows the honor upon educational institutions whose piano collection comprises no less than 90 percent of Steinways.
The Steinway Artist Concert will take place on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 4:00 p.m. in the East Parlor of Saint Joseph Hall at Chestnut Hill College.
