Best Buddies hosts TasteBuds at DoubleTree Valley Forge
This is no time to think about dieting.
A couple of weeks before the turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie take over your palate, your taste buds will be treated to the flavorsome magic that happens when you pair world-class chefs with a dozen adult and student buddies with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Appropriately entitled TasteBuds, the signature annual event organized by international nonprofit Best Buddies will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 6 to 9 p.m., at Doubletree Valley Forge, 301 W. DeKalb Pike, King of Prussia, writes Gary Puleo in The Times Herald.

The event was created to give guests the chance to experience the Best Buddies mission of inclusion first hand, while enjoying local cuisine, live music, and a silent auction, noted Milli Protheroe, area director for Best Buddies.
“Last year the event was at SugarHouse Casino and we feel that DoubleTree is a much more family friendly environment than a casino, so we’re hoping all of our supporters feel comfortable bringing their kids,” Protheroe said. “We have a lot of King of Prussia restaurants involved; it’s a nice mix of different restaurants. The chefs work with the buddies to present a dish for guests, who will get a chance to taste the dishes from 12 different restaurants.”
Participating restaurants include Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse: Kriebel’s Custom Bakery: Maggiano’s Little Italy; Outback Steakhouse’ Nourish’d; Simply Good Jars; Choolaah Indian BBQ; Mistral; Cantina Laredo; Amis Trattoria and Anthony’s Ristorante.
