Bergey’s Auto Dealership to purchase portion of old Souderton high school property
The sale of the Hilltown part of the former Souderton Area High School property appears to be rolling along.
An agreement of sale for Bergey’s Realty Co., which is affiliated with Bergey’s Auto Dealerships, to buy the 23-acre tract on County Line Road for $3.2 million was signed in February.
Due diligence investigation of the property is still being done, but settlement is scheduled for the end of June or earlier, Mark Bergey, Bergey’s CEO, said, writes Bob Keeler in the Lansdale Reporter.
Bergey’s Realty received approval from Souderton Area School District on April 17, the company said in a statement.
“Bergey’s is planning to purchase this property in anticipation of future growth opportunities in our business,” the statement said.
The size of the property and visibility from Route 309 are two of the benefits of the site, the company said.
“Plans for the property are not yet defined,” the statement said. “We will be researching potential options to determine our next steps.”
The high school moved to Lower Road in Franconia in 2009.
Before the move, the Hilltown portion of the property was used as athletic fields.
