The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) took home honorable mention in two PR News Digital Awards categories: Best Blog, and Location-Based Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year.

VFTCB was recognized for writing on the Valley Forge and Montgomery County Blog, The Pursuit – Stories Made in Montco on valleyforge.org, and technology initiatives used in the NFL Draft Campaign.

The organization was the only nonprofit honored in both categories at the Digital Awards Luncheon for the 2017 Award Winners on Wednesday at the Yale Club in New York City. Keynote speaker, Jason Dailey, from Facebook’s U.S. Agency Partner Development Lead, shared how to make digital campaigns discoverable by integrating SEO and social media.

To market the NFL Draft, VFTCB partnered with the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, and promoted the event on billboards, at a draft party, on social media and by using dynamic targeting on its web site, valleyforge.org/draft.

The custom content allowed the VFTCB to target key NFL markets such as Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Boston, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh. The web site saw more than 60,000 page views, with a large majority of those from New York.

More than 100,000 visitors attended the three-day event in April 2017. With a seven-day hotel room night sell out in Philly, Montgomery County experienced significant compression.
